After we had the hydraulic leak on the approach to the 9th green of Knudson the sod needed to be removed. We cut it all out and replaced it with fairway grass from the side of 1 Knudson fairway..
 
We are replacing the fairway grass with rough (bluegrass) on 1 Knudson. This is the beginning of fairway realignment. This area on the fairway was quite wide and will be more consistent with the other fairways on the course. In time we will be realigning many different areas on the fairways that will clean up these edges by giving them a nice smooth finished look.

The recovery on the fairways is coming along well. We have seen all areas reduced and some fully recovered. We have been doing a mixture of venting (with a machine or by hand), overseeding, extra watering, and increased fertilization. The bentgrass on the fairway grows laterally and is filling in smaller areas. August is a perfect month for seed to finish growing in these areas, with cooler nights and reasonable temperature days recovery will continue.

Demoing a bunker machine to see if this would be a good addition to our equipment. They produce a nice smooth finish in the bunker but it can be a challenge to get in and out of the bunkers. We don't want to damage the edges of any of the bunkers.

Last week we received over 3inches of rain in a 24hr period. This has made conditions very wet in select areas. With a small amount of rain over the weekend some of the wet areas are persisting. Quickly we are behind in our maintenance and cutting. I'm sure you may find some damp areas and long grass that we hope to catch up on by the weekend.
